Academic Standards of Progress

Lake Washington Technical College is a state supported public institution. Washington State Law (RCW 28B.10.695) requires colleges to adopt policies to help ensure students seeking degrees and certificates complete these programs in a timely manner, and efficiently use state resources.

State Support

Non-Discrimination Policy

Social Security Number Policy

The college will not deny any right, benefit or privilege provided by law because of a student's refusal to disclose a social security number when it is not required for purposes required under law.

Cal Perkins State Funding

The Carl D. Perkins Vocational and Technical Education Act (Perkins) was originally authorized in 1984, and most recently reauthorized in October of 1998.

Safety & Security Policy

Every effort is made by the College to maintain a safe and secure environment. This can occur if everyone makes safety a priority and takes his or her share of the responsibility for security for himself or herself and others on campus by reporting crimes and potential problems.

Student Right to Know

In accordance with federal regulations, Lake Washington Technical College is reporting completion and graduation rates for a select group of students who entered the college in fall 1998. The study identifies the percentages who had completed their programs or transferred by spring, 2001.

Limitation of Liability

The college's total liability for claims arising from a contractual relationship with the student in any way related to classes or programs shall be limited to the tuition and expenses paid by the student to the college for those classes or programs.
