Class Cancellation or College Closure Due to Inclement Weather or Emergency

How Do I Find Out About Closures?

• Get LWTC emergency email and/or text messages sent directly to you. This is the fastest way to get information about school closings.
• PSECS is the Public School Emergency Communications System information Web site. Visit PSECS to view school schedule changes due to adverse weather conditions and other emergency situations. Look for the Lake Washington Technical College listing under "Colleges."
• Washington State Department of Transportation traffic cameras.
• Listen to radio station 710 AM (KIRO AM) for announcements regarding Lake Washington Technical College. Don't be confused by announcements about Lake Washington School District which does not apply to the college.

Faculty

• Faculty will be informed of any class cancellation or college closure by their deans through a phone tree.
• Faculty should use phone mail and e-mail to inform students of the cancellation or closure. The switchboard will not be able to provide information to students.

Staff

• Staff will be informed of any class cancellation or college closure by their immediate supervisor.
• Staff should communicate with their supervisor in the event they are unable to come to work for any reason.
