Cancellation of Classes
In the event of severe weather conditions, power curtailment, a major disaster or other emergency, the college president or his or her designee may cancel classes or close the college by a general announcement, which will be conveyed to appropriate news media.
- At times, only morning or evening classes will be canceled.
- All activities during that time frame, including conferences, business group meetings and events are canceled as well.
Listen to Radio Stations for an Announcement
In case of bad weather which might cancel classes or close the college, it is recommended you listen to KIRO (710 AM), because it broadcasts announcements every 30 minutes in all counties, but you may also listen to any of the following radio stations:
- KIRO AM 710
- KOMO AM 1000
- KRPM AM 1090
- KPLU FM 88.5
- KMPS FM 94.1
Listen for announcements regarding Lake Washington Technical College (make sure you are not misled by announcements about Lake Washington School District).
If it is not announced the College is closed, we are open, and students will be expected to attend classes unless they have not been notified by their instructor of any unusual situations that would prevent him or her from reaching the school in bad weather.
Individual Class Open/Closed Information
