The college contributes to a highly-trained workforce with more than 200 day and evening courses per quarter for professional and technical development and industry certification. Some classes meet evenings and weekends.

Certification exams
Dental Assisting National Board examination
Become a Certified Dental Assistant. The exam is offered approximately four times a year at the college. An application describing eligibility requirements will be sent to you.
Washington Certified Nursery Professional exam
Students enrolled in the environmental horticulture program may sit for this exam, given twice yearly in March and October. Individuals who pass the exam and complete the required work experience qualify to be recognized as certified professional horticulturists, designated by the initials "CPH." The test is offered by the Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association, P.O. Box 670, Sumner, WA 98390-0670, phone (800) 672-7711. A pre-test for this exam is offered by LWTC each October.
Certified Electronics Technician exam (CET) and
FCC General Radio Telephone exam

Certified Drafter
This national exam is given under the direction of our American Design Drafting Association certified test administrator. Call Ken Brown at (425) 739-8327 for pre-registration information and reservations. $35 test fee.
American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer Exam/Nautilus Trainer Certification
Upon successful completion of the fitness specialist program, students become eligible to take several fitness industry exams. For more information, call (425) 729-8370.
Licensed Practical Nurse exam
Upon successful completion and graduation from the Board of Nursing approved licensed practical nurse course at the college, students become eligible to take the LPN Licensing exam. For more information about the exam, call (425) 739-8100.
Certified Medical Assistant exam
At the culmination of one year's successful work experience as a medical assistant, the Lake Washington Technical College graduate is eligible to take the CMA Exam. For more information, call (425) 739-8225.
