Masterpiece/Winemaker’s Dinner

Mental Health Fair

May 20-21, from 11:00 - 1:00 p.m., East Building Mall

LWTC Counseling Services presents its first-ever Mental Health Awareness Fair on May 20 and 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the East Mall. The free event is designed to increase awareness of mental illnesses and to give students, staff and faculty a chance to connect with agencies in the community that provide related services. The event will include speakers from the National Alliance on Mental Illness, a local clinical psychologist who will talk about Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), tables of various participating agencies from the community, and display boards prepared by LWTC students on topics of depression, anxiety, bipolar and PTSD disorders. Academy 20th Anniversary Celebration

May 15, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

The Lake Washington Technical Academy is holding a 20th anniversary celebration on May 14 from 3-5 p.m. in the West Building, room 305A. The celebration will feature several people who were fundamental in starting and developing the Academy, as well as current and former students. The event is open to all staff, faculty and students, and cake and refreshments will be served. Masterpiece Dinner

March 13, 6:30 p.m.

The Culinary Arts program is hosting its spring Masterpiece Dinner on Thursday, March 13 at the Chef City Grill. A reception begins at 6 p.m., with dinner beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event features a six-course menu and includes wines from Kana Winery in Yakima. Cost is $65 per person (plus tax), with an optional $10 per person donation to the Ronald McDonald House charity. Make your reservations now; there are only a few seats left! Sailing to Success

Please join us November 3, 2007 at Lake Washington Technical College Foundation’s 4th Annual Dinner and Auction at LWTC’s Kirkland campus.

This special evening features the many skills of our college students and departments including a superb buffet dinner, silent and live auctions with hundreds of items and great entertainment. The evening will help the Lake Washington College Foundation maintain consistent support for LWTC programs, staff and most importantly our students.

SEPTEMBER

LWTC Fall Plant Sale

Friday, September 28th, 10:00 am - 1:00 p.m.

The LWTC Environmental horticulture students will be hosting our annual fall sale. The selection of trees, shrubs and perennials have all been grown and cared for by students in the program. Additional plants will be available from Northwest Nurseries, a local wholesale nursery. All proceeds from these sales will go to the Jim Colman Scholarship Fund, established in honor and memory of Jim Colman, founder of the nursery. Every quarter (four times per year) the Scholarship awards full tuition to one student in the Environmental horticulture program.

Lake Washington Technical Academy Orientation

Receive orientation and admissions information is provided to prospective Academy students and their parents. Attendance is required as part of the admissions process prior to educational planning.

Outreach events for high school students, parents and community. Lake Washington Technical College is involved in college fairs, career planning events and educational presentations at area high schools. The college also hosts high school and junior high tour groups and events on our Kirkland campus.
